Paid Questions

Paid Questions let a follower pay upfront to ask one private question, with up to two follow-ups, and you answer in writing on your own time — no live call or scheduling. Followers pay upfront as guests. You set the price and delivery window, then reply in writing on your own time.

What it is

When followers ask for advice, an opinion, or a quick take, they can pay your price and submit one private question from your Brillay page. No live call, no scheduling: you send the first reply in writing within the window you set, and the follower can ask up to two follow-ups, each answered within 24 hours. They check out as guests by card, and the whole conversation stays private. Each request is a one-time payment. If you decline a request, or the delivery window passes without a reply, the request closes and the follower keeps their money.

How each tool is built, what Brillay does instead, and what that changes for you.

ToolWhat it is built aroundWhat Brillay does instead, and what it means for you
Calendly / Zoom / SuperpeerLive calls: a slot to hold, a calendar to keep, a time zone to match. A two-minute question still takes a booking. One written answer inside the window you set — no call, no calendar, no time zone. You answer between other work, so you can set a price for a short written answer rather than for a 30-minute slot.
Topmate / MinnectExpert-call marketplaces: your profile lives in someone else's directory, the session is booked on their platform, and your follower has to sign up there before they can reach you.The question is asked from your own bio link, one tap from the post they were reading, with the follower checking out as a guest. No application, no ranking, no follower minimum.
Preply / italkiTutoring marketplaces: the platform ranks you, takes a cut of every lesson and controls how new students find you.Your own page and your own students: you set the price for one written answer, and the people who already follow you pay upfront.
PatreonA membership: to get one answer a follower has to join a tier, pay monthly and cancel afterwards, and you owe that tier new content every month. No membership for either side. One question, one price, a written answer with two follow-ups, and nothing owed afterwards — beside the Patreon you already run.
Ko-fiA support page built around tips: a question arrives as a message with no price, no scope and no promised reply, and payment can route through PayPal, which shows your name and address to whoever pays.A priced question with a written reply window, paid upfront by card as a guest — so the question arrives already paid and your payment details stay private.
Buy Me a CoffeeA tip jar in fixed increments: a follower can buy you a coffee, but there is no way to buy a specific answer with a promised reply.Your answer has a price and a delivery window, and tips still sit on the same link for the people who only want to say thanks.
Linktree / Beacons / Stan StoreA link list or a storefront for products built in advance — a PDF, a course, a template — which is the opposite of a question that only exists once someone asks it.Nothing built in advance: the answer is written for the follower who asked, after they pay, on the page they landed on.

Price

You set the price. Example: the new-creator default is $5 for one question with a 24-hour reply window. No monthly fee, you only pay a small platform fee when you get paid. 8% platform fee when a follower pays for work, 5% platform fee on tips and goals. Card processing is separate.
